Tumult of Life

By Jack Jump Sr. Jack is a chipmunk.

“Such a happy tumult as proves the last day is not yet at hand. ” H.D. Thoreau A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers

We took seeds that were needed, climbing clumps of stems and swinging down, to cut the seed heads free. The climb and fling! Till our toes grasped the dirt. Then the cut and gather. And go shooting off again! But always leaving a sprinkling there, here and new places too of seeds for spring. And so our bird and mice friends are fed, and seeds are scattered.
